Should German Police not have waited till they could actually charge this suspect, before making this public?

While people might wish to see, this couple punished in some legal manner for their own actions in this dreadful tragedy, who could not consider the press releases and utterance of the German Police, as unwarranted torture?

Surly the investigation could have stayed silent, till this suspect was actually charged with the offences!
