How about instead of imposing, what might well be laudable policies, in of themselves; But, that without out proper preparation are a disaster for many of the general population.
Proper planning? How about instead of grants to the select few, who can afford or qualify for expensive loans, for PEV cars, retro fitting of homes, etc. Solar panels and so on. Why not instead give to every licenced driver, to every household, of whatever status; A set of specific, interest-free loans, spread over a ten-year period; To make it possible for all citizens to be able to make the right kind of changes to their lifestyles and homes that would achieve the desired outcomes?
This would of itself, speed up the reductions so lovingly sought by the Greens and their allies. And reduce social friction, as more of the population will be directly involved. As the horse will be walking in front of the cart (for a change!) Let’s face’ it, money is really a minor issue in this race for the planet.
