But would you also believe the first Plantagenet, Count Geoffery of Anjou, was an early member of the Green Party? Indeed, Geoffery got the name, Plantagenet, from his habit of wearing a spring of broom (the plant genista) in his bonnet, with which to plant brooms so as to improve his hunting cover.
